While the NFL may rule the land when it comes to popularity, there’s no denying that Major League Baseball reigns supreme in the Peach State each year.
Thanks to winning the only Big Three (MLB, NBA & NBA) championship this century in 2021, the Atlanta Braves are far and away the most popular professional sports team in Georgia — routing the Atlanta Falcons and Hawks when broken down by search volume totals.

Which GA Pro Team Rules Them All?
Overall, the Braves’ search volume total of 2,740,000 during the period in question more than tripled the next closest team, that being the Falcons at 823,000.
Whether that changes now that the Falcons are 3-2 and atop the NFC South leaderboard remains to be seen, though Atlanta’s NFL franchise has never won a championship since arriving in 1966 — losing twice in the Super Bowl (1998 and 2016).
This year, oddsmakers from Bet365 have the Falcons at +2500 to win their first title in 2025, putting the club 11th in the 32-team league and just behind the Dallas Cowboys, who are listed at +2000.
Other professional teams that made the cut this year include the Hawks, who earned a search volume total of 450,000, while the ever-entertaining Savannah Bananas were fourth overall, at 368,000.
The lone WNBA franchise in the state (the Atlanta Dream) rounded out the Georgia pro sports quintet, with a search volume total of 40,500 to finish a distant fifth in the Peach State standings.
