Christmas Countdown: Georgia Among Top 10 States Counting Down

With Thanksgiving arriving on Thursday, the countdown towards the most joyous day of the calendar year is officially on, with Christmas Day arriving in less than a month and states across America decked out to celebrate the occasion.  

In American states such as Georgia, the holiday spirit is alive and well, with the Peach State posting one of the highest search interest scores when it comes to Christmas topics nationally, with a total of 83 points overall.  

The countdown to Christmas has begun. At BetGeorgia.com - home to all things Georgia sports betting - we wanted to see what states are most excited about the holiday. Using Google Trends, we ranked states based on search interest score for “how many days until Christmas.” The search period was between October 25, 2024 – November 25, 2024.

Where Georgia Ranks in Xmas Spirit

Nationally, Georgia’s search interest score of 83 ranks seventh overall, sandwiched between No. 6 Louisiana, which had a score of 84 during the period in question, while finishing ahead of Oklahoma, which had a score of 82 points in total.  

The U.S. leaders in Christmas spirit were Mississippi, which had a perfect score of 100 points, while South Carolina (94 points), Arkansas (88 points), Kentucky (87 points) and Iowa (85 points) rounded out the top five nationally.  

Throw in Louisiana, Georgia and Oklahoma’s totals, as well as No. 9 Delaware (81 search interest score) and No. 10 Indiana (80 search interest score) and you have the top 10 covered in the U.S. this holiday season.  

With just over four weeks to go until the big day arrives, it seems like residents of the Peach State are well ahead of their domestic peers when it comes to getting into the holiday season.
