There aren’t a lot of states nationally that pump out professional grade football players on the scale that Georgia does on a yearly basis, with that fact one again reflected by the Peach State’s presence in next week’s Super Bowl in New Orleans.
That’s because of the 97 players listed on the rosters of the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, seven of them (or 7.2% of the total) hail from Georgia, with five players on Kansas City’s active roster, with two more on the NFC champs squad.
As for the game itself, oddsmakers from DraftKings Sportsbook currently have the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs down as a -130 moneyline favorite in Super Bowl LIX, with K.C. currently sitting as a 1.5-point favorite on the spread across Georgia sports betting. Utilizing SportsIllustrated.com’s official active roster for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs, we were able to determine the states that will be represented in Super Bowl LIX. 97 players were on both active rosters.

Of the 32 states that have at least one player on either teams’ roster in Super Bowl LIX, Georgia’s total of seven players ranks third overall, behind California (12 players) and Florida (10 players), while Texas also has seven players in the Big Game this year.
Those seven from the Peach State include Chiefs offensive linemen Wanya Morris and Hunter Nourzad, with Malik Herring and Jaylen Watson on the defensive side of the ball for Andy Reid’s bunch and Harrison Butker kicking for the two-time defending champs.
Throw in cornerback Darius Slay and linebacker Nolan Smith on the Eagles roster and you have the seven players on active rosters that will suit up for Super Bowl LIX, with two more (Mecole Hardman and C.J. Uzomah) on the injured reserve and Steven Nelson and Montrell Washington currently sitting on the Chiefs practice squad.
All told, few states are as well represented in Super Bowl LIX as the Peach State, with Georgia football talent on full display when the Chiefs and Eagles square off inside the Superdome on Feb. 9.
