Georgia Favors The Classics When It Comes To Halloween

This year, it appears some staples of Halloween lore are still the top choices when it comes to costumes in the Peach State. Georgia residents have expressed the most interest in witch (33 search interest score) and vampire (20 search interest score) ahead of the traditional Oct. 31 holiday.

Just behind those two classics though are a couple costumes tied to some huge hits at the box office in recent years, as Beetlejuice (18 search interest score) and Barbie (17 search interest score) took the No. 3 and No. 4 spots, respectively.

Tim Burton's "Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice," the sequel to the 1988 cult classic, has dominated the box office since its release over three weeks ago. Thanks to the return of Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder, plus newcomers like Jenna Ortega and Willem Dafoe, Beetlejucie is once again top of mind in pop culture, so expect to see a few of the afterlife ghosts on Halloween this year.

The same goes for Barbies, who is still massively popular after a resurgence with the Margot Robbie film over the summer of 2023. Robbie's film, in which she co-starred with Ryan Gosling and Will Ferrell, grossed over $1.4 billion, and also received eight nominations at the 96th Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

So while Georgia residents are fond of the traditional costumes for Halloween, they're also on top of what's top of mind at the box office. Oh and keep an eye out for a few Deadpools (No. 7) and Batmans (T8) as well on Halloween night!
