Georgia’s Favorite Toppings For Pizza Day

Fact Checked by Editorial Staff

Few elements of American food culture unite us all quite like a good slice of pizza pie, with residents of the 50 states (and Washington D.C.) having their personal preference on the perfect slice.

Whether it be a more upscale twist on the slice like Neapolitan style or an American take on the Italian food staple like New York, Chicago or Detroit style, pizza is a great unifier in America, with certain toppings ruling out when it comes to winning over the hearts and minds of people in places like Georgia.

Celebrated on February 9, National Pizza Day is the perfect way to celebrate Super Bowl Sunday. BetGeorgia.com used Google Trends to rank the top five pizza toppings in the state of Georgia. We ranked the top five toppings based on search interest scores from a search conducted over the past year on January 24, 2025.

Which Pizza Topping Won Out?

In Georgia, the humble cheese pizza proved to be a whopper of a favorite, with a search interest score of 70 points to more than double the next closest topping, which was pepperoni with a score of 32 points.

Rounding out the pizza slice list in the Peach State this year were two meat-heavy stalwarts, in sausage pizzas (25 search interest score) and supreme pizzas (22 search interest score), while the veggie-laden vegan slice was fifth, with a search interest score of 16 points in Georgia during the period in question.

At day’s end, no pizza topping held the type of statewide sway that the simplest of them all did, though, with cheese pizzas being the go-to choice for Georgia residents of all ages in 2025.
