The spookiest day of the calendar year is a mere few weeks away, which begs the question as to which candy residents of the Peach State prefer come Halloween time.
Thanks to the digital tea leaves known as search interest scores, we can detect which candy is preferred by Georgia residents, with a Mars brand favorite beating out a much maligned treat and another Nestlé staple this year.
Halloween and trick-or-treating are almost here. In celebration of the spooky holiday, BetGeorgia.com used Google Trends to see what the most popular Halloween candies are in Georgia. The search period was between September 11, 2024 – October 11, 2024, and the rank is based on search interest scores for each candy. We'll get back to our Georgia sports betting coverage shortly, but we've got a sweet tooth same as you!
Rank | Candy | Search Interest Score |
1 | Milky Way | 41 |
2 | Candy Corn | 36 |
3 | Butterfinger | 33 |
4 | Skittles | 31 |
5 | Reese’s Cup | 22 |
When it comes to search interest scores, no chocolate or candy brand does as well in Georgia as Milky Way, which finished with a score of 41 points to beat out candy corn. The enigmatic tri-colored candy was second overall in Georgia with a total search interest score of 36, while Nestlé chocolate bar brand Butterfinger was third overall with a score of 33 points.
Rounding out the Georgia candy quintet were Skittles, with a total search interest score of 31, and Reese’s Cups, which had a total score of 22 points.
None of them could hold a confectionary candle to Milky Way bars, however, with the 100-year-old brand beating out a host of well-known candy brands to take home the top spot this Halloween in the state of Georgia.
Of the five, only candy corn and Skittles were non-chocolate based delicacies to crack the list in Georgia, with both finishing well behind Mars’ longtime caramel-and-chocolate staple in the Peach State.
