Given the SEC’s longstanding dominance of the CFP and the sport of college football in general, it’s likely of little surprise to learn that the Southeast is well represented on the NFL’s brightest stage, with schools like Georgia having their fair share of players on the rosters of the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.
Of the many CFB teams that sent players to the two teams competing in Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9 in New Orleans, the Bulldogs ranked second nationally, with five players on either the Chiefs or Eagles rosters, while the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets ranked in a tie for 11th with two players making this year’s Big Game.
As for the game itself, the Chiefs are currently listed as a 1.5-point favorite in Super Bowl LIX on DraftKings Sportsbook, with a -130 moneyline on the two-time defending champs compared with +110 odds on the visitors from the City of Brotherly Love. If only there was Georgia sports betting to get in on the action.
Utilizing SportsIllustrated.com’s official active roster for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs, we were able to determine the colleges that will be represented in Super Bowl LIX. 97 players were on both active rosters.

The Eagles have five players from UGA alone, including defensive tackles Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis, to go with cornerback Kelee Ringo and outside linebacker Nolan Smith, while linebacker Nakobe Dean is on the team’s injured reserve list.
Philly also employs Georgia Tech tight end E.J. Jenkins, giving the NFC East squad a Peach State flare in Super Bowl LIX, while the Chiefs have former UGA defensive end Malik Herring and Georgia Tech kicker Harrison Butker on their active roster and wideout Mecole Hardman of Bulldogs fame on the IR.
Overall, the seven players from either Georgia university would equal the nation’s top Super Bowl LIX roster filler, which is the Oklahoma Sooners, who have seven players on the rosters of teams competing in New Orleans.
