A former two-time national champion is in the NCAA Transfer Portal, as Georgia Bulldogs redshirt senior quarterback Carson Beck is officially leaving Athens on the heels of UGAโs loss in the CFP quarterfinals, leaving after throwing for 7,912 yards and 58 touchdowns across two seasons as a starter.
The four-star recruit in the class of 2020 out of Jacksonville, Florida announced his plans of entering the portal last week, giving the 22-year-old one more year of college eligibility before taking his talents to the NFL in 2026, with several FBS programs likely to pursue the veteran signal caller this offseason.
While originally planning on entering the 2025 NFL Draft, Beck will give it one last go at playing college football. BetGeorgia.com - home to all Georgia sports betting news - developed exclusive odds projecting where the QB would transfer for his last season of eligibility.
Beck ended up - as we thought - taking his talents to Miami to play for the Hurricanes.
Team | Odds | Percent Chance |
Miami Hurricanes | -150 | 60.0% |
Ohio State Buckeyes | +500 | 16.7% |
Texas Tech Red Raiders | +650 | 13.3% |
The Field | +900 | 10.0% |

Sports betting is not yet legal in Georgia, but our site is monitoring what happens in Athens and will let you know when sportsbooks like DraftKings and BetMGM GA become available.
Right now, our top landing spot for Beckโs services in 2025 is the Miami Hurricanes, who need to find a starting QB after Heisman Trophy finalist Cam Wardโs graduation, with the ACC stalwart checking in at -150 to land him out of the portal, beating out Ohio State (+500) and Texas Tech (+650).
The Buckeyes will need to replace Kansas State transfer Will Howard after the CFP, and Beck could be enticed by Chip Kelly's offense to head to Columbus.
But for now, weโll go with Miami head coach Mario Cristobal as the heavy favorite to land Beck out of the portal this offseason, with the โCanes ranking ahead of other FBS powers in the chase of the former Georgia gunslinger now that the redshirt senior is officially leaving Athens for greener pastures.
