Which MLB Team Should I Be A Fan Of? Rankings of Best Team To Join In 2025

Fact Checked by Thomas Leary

If you’re of a certain age, you may remember a time when the Atlanta Braves were called America’s Team. It’s a nickname given to the franchise by then-owner Ted Turner, whose cable superstation aired nearly every game across the country.

For baseball fans in the 80s, if you wanted to watch baseball, you had the Braves on TBS, the Chicago Cubs on WGN and the national game of the week. That led to a lot of people from across the country becoming Braves fans, even when the team struggled for most of those years.

Now, though, technology allows baseball fans to watch their favorite team’s games, even if they live outside of their team’s broadcast territory. How do the Braves stack up against other MLB teams in terms of being easy to cheer for? Especially when there's no Georgia sports betting to get in on the action?

At BetGeorgia.com, we came up with a weighted rating system to determine which team is the best to become a fan of this season. To accomplish this, we averaged out the rankings of each team in four separate categories: 2025 World Series Champion Odds (from DraftKings Sportsbook), 2024 National TV Appearances (from ESPN), 2024 Year-End Farm System Rankings (from Bleacher Report) and 2025 MLB Stadium Rankings (from USA Today).

As it turns out, few teams have been as successful as the Braves have been in recent years. They’ve made the playoffs each season since 2018, and only the Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros sport better records over that span.

If there can be a knock on Atlanta, it’s the lack of postseason success outside of the 2021 World Series title. That said, the MLB playoffs are typically a crapshoot. You play 162 games because you need that many to differentiate the good teams from the bad. Still, if you paired a 90-72 team with a 70-92 team over seven games, the team with the losing record still has a halfway decent chance to win four.

Atlanta Braves Odds For 2025

The Braves enter the 2025 season as the second choice on DraftKings World Series futures board. Oddsmakers there give Atlanta odds of +800 to win its fifth title in franchise history and third since moving to Georgia 59 years ago.

Sports betting unfortunately is not yet legal in Georgia, though it is available in Tennessee, North Carolina and Florida.
